How to Install Final Draft?
Step one: Download the Final Draft 13 installer:
To get the installer.zip file, click the link provided below.
The installer is normally saved in your Downloads folder, which you can access by selecting the down-pointing arrow icon in the upper right corner of your web browser window or by going to Finder > Downloads.
In the Downloads folder, there will be a file called “finaldraft13xxxxMac.zip,” where the xs represent a series of integers. Double-click on the.zip file.
A new file, Final Draft 13.dmg, will emerge next to the.zip file. Double-click the.dmg file.
A new window will open with the Final Draft 13 icon on the left and a blue Applications folder on the right. Click and drag the Final Draft 13 icon into the blue folder to add Final Draft 13 to Applications.
Step 2: Launch Final Draft 13 and sign in.
Final Draft 13 can be launched from the Applications folder in Finder or from Launchpad on your Mac.
You may see an Apple popup asking if you wish to launch the application; click Open.
You will be requested to read the End User License Agreement. Read the agreement and click Agree to accept it.
You will be requested to sign in to Final Draft 13 with the email address and password you created when purchasing the program. Enter your email address, then click Next.
You’ll then be requested for your password. Enter your password and click Sign. Enter to sign in.
Step 3: Onboarding and creating a new file:
After opting in, you will be prompted to opt in or out of anonymous data collecting, which helps Final Draft improve its products.
Once you have opted in or out, you will be asked a few questions about your writing experience and ambitions. Once everything is completed, you will be directed to the Final Draft 13 welcome screen.
To open a blank screenplay document, click “New File”. If you’re new to Final Draft or screenwriting, we recommend heading to File in the upper left corner of your screen, selecting New From Template, and then launching “Screenplay for Beginners,” which demonstrates the fundamentals of formatting in Final Draft.
